煉金術(shù)士的英文版也是入門級別的有聲書，原文是葡萄牙語，八十年代初出版，只有100頁左右，講述的是少年圣地亞哥尋找人生意義的過程。喜歡《小王子》的一般都喜歡這本書。有人會認為它的缺點是宗教色彩和說教意味比較濃厚。值得一提的是，書里的重要線索Philosopher’s stone也就是哈利波特第一部的標題了（美版改成 the Sorcerer’s Stone）
