Transcend Yourself 超越自我

Life affords no higher pleasure than that of surmounting difficulties, passing from one step of success to another, forming new wishes and seeing them gratified.

只有當(dāng)你超越一個(gè)又一個(gè)的困難，取得一個(gè)又一個(gè)的成功，完成一個(gè)又一個(gè)的愿望的時(shí)候，生命才是最快樂(lè)的。

Follow Your Dream 追隨夢(mèng)想

There was a young man born in a poor family, as a result, his school career was continually interrupted.

有一個(gè)出生在窮人家里的年輕人。因此，他的求學(xué)過(guò)程并不順利。

Once he was asked to write a paper about what he wanted to be and do when he grew up.

一天他被要求寫一篇關(guān)于自己長(zhǎng)大后想要做什么的論文。

That night he write a seven--page paper describing his goal of some day owing a horse ranch.

那天晚上，他寫了七頁(yè)紙，描述他的目標(biāo)是將來(lái)?yè)碛幸粋€(gè)大牧場(chǎng)。

He write his dream in great detail and he even drew a diagram of a 200-acre ranch. 

他詳細(xì)地寫下了他的夢(mèng)想，他也畫了一張200畝農(nóng)場(chǎng)的設(shè)計(jì)圖。

Then he drew a detailed floor plan for a 4,000--square--foot house that would sit on a 200-acre dream ranch .

他詳盡地計(jì)劃4000平方英尺的房子，坐在一張200畝農(nóng)場(chǎng)的夢(mèng)想。

He put a great deal of his heart into the project and the next day he handed it in to his teacher.

他在其中投入了大量的心血，然后，第二天他就把論文交給了老師。

Two days later, he received his paper back,on the front page was a large red F with a note that read " see me after class". 

兩天后他拿回了論文。封面上卻是一個(gè)又紅又大的F和一個(gè)便條。”下課后來(lái)見(jiàn)我。”

The boy with dream went to see the teacher after class and asked "why did I receive an F ?"

懷著夢(mèng)想的男孩下課后去見(jiàn)老師問(wèn)，“為什么給我不及格？”

The teacher said "this is an unrealistic dream for young boy like you " .

老師說(shuō)，這對(duì)一個(gè)像你這樣的年輕人來(lái)說(shuō)，是一個(gè)不切實(shí)際的夢(mèng)想。

You have no money, you have no resources from your family, there is no way you could ever do it.

你沒(méi)有錢，你也沒(méi)有家庭資源，你不可能做到的。

Then the teacher added "if you rewrite this paper with a more realistic goal, I will reconsider your grade"

接著老師又補(bǔ)充道，“如果你重新寫一個(gè)比較現(xiàn)實(shí)的目標(biāo)，我會(huì)重新考慮你的分?jǐn)?shù)。”

The boy went home and thought about it long and hard.

男孩回到家里，認(rèn)真思考了很久。

He asked his father what he should do, his farther said , '' look ,son, you have to make up your own mind on this , however, i think it is very important decision for you "

他問(wèn)他的父親他應(yīng)該怎么做。他的父親說(shuō)，“聽著，兒子，你必須自己決定。畢竟，我認(rèn)為這對(duì)你來(lái)說(shuō)是一個(gè)非常重要的決定”

Finally, after sitting with it for a week, the boy turned in the same paper, making no changes at all.

最后，一個(gè)星期后，男孩交回了論文，沒(méi)做任何變化。

He stated , " you can keep the F and I will keep my dream ".

他說(shuō)，“你可以繼續(xù)給我打不及格，不過(guò)我會(huì)堅(jiān)持我的夢(mèng)想。”

Recollecting the story , My friend Monty and I are now sitting in his 4,000--square--foot house in the middle of 200-acre ranch.

回憶這個(gè)故事，我的朋友蒙蒂和我正坐在他占地4000平方英尺的房子中間的一個(gè)200英畝的牧場(chǎng)。

 Two summers ago , that same school teacher brought 30 Kids to camp out on his ranch.

兩年前的夏天，那位老師帶了30個(gè)孩子在他的農(nóng)場(chǎng)露營(yíng)。

When the teacher was leaving, ha said, look, Monty, I can tell you this now, when I was your teacher, I was something of a dream stealer.

當(dāng)老師離開的時(shí)候，他說(shuō)，“看，蒙蒂，我現(xiàn)在可以告訴你了。當(dāng)我是你的老師，我是一個(gè)夢(mèng)想的小偷。

During those years, I stole a lot of Kids' dreams, fortunately, you had enough gumption not to give up on yours.

在那些年里，我偷了很多孩子們的夢(mèng)想。幸虧你有毅力，堅(jiān)持自己的夢(mèng)想。

Don’t let anyone steal your dreams, follow your heart no matter what.

不要讓任何人偷走你的夢(mèng)想，無(wú)論怎樣都要追隨你的內(nèi)心。
