1. Before Proper Nouns 在專有名詞前面
We omit the articles that come before names. It can be the names (proper nouns) of people, places, countries, things etc.
名字(專有名詞)前面省略冠詞 ,例如人名、地名、國(guó)家名稱、某物名稱。
- You can start Microsoft Word.
你可以打開(kāi)Word。
- It was his wish to visit London one time in his life.
他希望有生之年能去一次倫敦。
2. You should also not use an article when you use a possessive, like "my", or the adjective "one”. 當(dāng)你使用所有格時(shí)也不要使用冠詞,比如my或one。
- You can start one application. 你可以開(kāi)始一個(gè)申請(qǐng)了。
- You can start his application. 你可以開(kāi)始他 申請(qǐng)了。
3. Before Abstract/Uncountable Nouns 在抽象/不可數(shù)名詞前面
- He is full of wisdom. 他很有智慧。
- She does not add sugar to her coffee. 她的咖啡不加糖。
4. Before Plural Nouns 在名詞復(fù)數(shù)前面
When talking about common plural nouns, the articles will be omitted. But if these nouns were talked in a particular sense, we will use “the”, but never “a/an”.
當(dāng)談?wù)摮R?jiàn)的復(fù)數(shù)名詞時(shí),冠詞將被省略。但是如果這些名詞是在特定的意義上說(shuō)的,我們會(huì)用“the”, 但不會(huì)用“a/an”。
- Some women are waiting for you by the door. 有些女士在門口等你。
- One of the women has come to see you. 有一位女士來(lái)見(jiàn)你。
