In the year 2007, I decided that I was going to either be a successful entrepreneur or I'll die trying to be one.
By July,2008, I started out fully in the business world and was ready to sacrifice even my life, to have a success that will make me to be in control of my life.
My hatred for jobs ranked so high that only Satan should be hated that much but that was for a reason and that reason, for me, is the freedom.
I grew up in a family that allowed me to be myself.
Even though my parents are poor, they are not control freaks, so I grew up being in control of my life.
However, when I was old enough to understand, I knew that job is the fastest way anyone can lose control of his life so I decided never to be an employee.
In today's video, I'll be sharing with you the Jack Welch's advice for young people who want to be rich here is the thing, Jack Welch said, "Control your own destiny or someone else will" this is the harsh reality, sad, but true.
If you don't strive to control your own destiny as a young person, someone will take charge of your life and control it for the rest of your life.
Why I hate jobs.
The No.1 reason why I hate job is that it's the fastest and easiest way to lose control of your life.
I mean, by the virtue of having a job, someone tells you when to wake up, and when to sleep.
Someone dictates what you earn and how you work to earn such amount.
You don't just lose some freedom over your life, you almost lose every kind of freedom, include when to go on vacation.
And before you misunderstand me here, I'm an entrepreneur and I do have a company, with people working for me.
One thing I do to make people that work with me have some control is by allowing almost everyone who work with me to work at their own time, in their own space.
For example, as at the time of making this video, more than 90% of the people who work with my company have the grace to work remotely and I think this lessen the burden of job.
But this video is not about me but about what is happening out there.
In the real world, the battle is for the control.
If you fail to take control of your life, someone else will do it for you.
What it means to be in control I stated in the last section of this video that i hate jobs and that sounds as if job is a bad thing but that's not my point.
Job, of course, isn't a bad thing because if everyone becomes entrepreneur, we'll have nobody to work in the companies.
However, as much as job isn't a bad thing, ordinary job is an evil thing.
when I talk about control in this video, I mean, your ability to retain your human dignity, your ability to retain you voice, your opinion, your independence and your humanity.
Ask anyone who works at the Amazon's storehouse and they will tell you what it feels to live less than a human being.
But, can you have a job and still have control over your life?
Absolutely yes.
You can be an employee and still have a perfect control over your life but you can't afford to be one of the employees.
I'm an entrepreneur and I can tell you that every entrepreneur has the employees they worship, literarily.
The reason why every entrepreneur has some employees they worship is because nobody can build a company an alone.
Not just that you can never build a company all by yourself, you need to hire and keep the smartest people you can find for as long as you can keep them.
So, basically, this is what happens;if you're very valuable, your employers will worship you and will be willing to give you as much reasonable control as you want over your life.
Now, there's another problem here which is that, every employee thinks that they are valuable because they work very hard for a particular company.
Unfortunately, entrepreneurs don't define value the way employees define it. for you to see the picture of how entrepreneurs define value, let's think about your mobile phone.
If in the year 1998 someone is selling mobile phones that have camera, any camera at all and he's selling them at the price higher than any other phone in the market, even if the camera in this phone is black and white, such a phone would sell like gold.
You know why?
Well, as at 1998, no mobile phone in the world had camera.
Fast-forward to 2007, we already had many phones with camera so you can't sell us that black and white camera phone and expect us to pay any money for it.
But there's something else we didn't have and that was a phone without buttons.
The buttons were ugly and Steve Job took them away and gave us the iPhones.
The whole world worshiped the iPhones and are ready to pay premium prices for them.
Now, as you can see, your value is closely related to how scarce you are.
You won't ever have control of your time, your income or your individuality, as long as your employer can replace you tomorrow morning.
你根本不能控制你的時(shí)間,收入和個(gè)人特性,因?yàn)槟愕睦习宓诙煸缟暇湍苷胰颂娲恪?br>No employer thinks about how hard you work.
No employer worries about losing you, if he can find someone else to do your job by this time tomorrow.
The only people employers' value are the people whose job cannot easily be replaced.
Think about this; an average CEO earns 158,193 dollars.
Show many times as much as the employees of the company they lead.
Why do these CEO earn so much?
Well, not many people in the world are qualified to do what they are doing.
Not many people are leaders.
Not many people are visionary.

Not many people can negotiate deal and get results for the company.
Because not many people can do the work the CEOs do, it means if you fire any CEO, you might not find a good replacement for him on time and that's the reason why you worship such people.
Yes, not many people can become CEO but many people can become much more valuable in their job.
We have great sales people who are in control of their life because they are so much valuable to the company they are working for.
We have many engineers who are the gods for their company because they are so much valuable.
We have many lawyers who charges highest fees and everyone still wants them.
My point here is simple: to control your destiny, you have to be very valuable to the market place, so much value that not many people in the world can do what you do.
Control your destiny or someone else will.
Choose your fight carefully. To have control of your life, you have to start by choosing your fight in life.
Most people are generalists who do things because everyone does them.
You have to be intentional.
As a young person, your first job is to discover what makes you high.
By what makes you high, I mean, what you are passionate about.
A lot of people have asked me to tell them how to know what they are passionate about.
My simple answer is: get involve with many things and pay attention to how you feel doing each of those things.
If you love how you feel doing a particular thing, do more and more of it.
The more interest you have, the less of other things you will do because you can't win the fight of life if you're a generalist.
Napoleon Hill has written about that before anyone of us was born; nobody pays generalists a lot of money.
Control your own destiny or someone else will control beyond work and job.
I talk a lot about having control over your profession and job because that's the easiest way to lose your life.
But that's by no means the only way you can lose the control of your life.
Another way you can easily lose your own life is through the societal pressure.
Every society has predefined definition for everything.
In my country, some of those predefined notions are; if you're a teenager, you have to listen to everyone who is older than you because they are always wiser than you.
在我們國(guó)家,有些預(yù)定義的概念是:如果你是的青年人,你要聽(tīng)年長(zhǎng)的人,因?yàn)樗麄兏兄腔邸?br>If you have a home, you must own a TV. If you are married, you must have kids.
If you're rich, you must use expensive cars and if you have any money at all, you need to have a car.
If you want to be respected, you must have degrees and PhD and the list goes on.
I know that your culture and society also have a predetermined definitions and values but I'm here to tell you;those values are usually very stupid.
For example, I don't have a TV in my home, I don't have any degrees, I don't have a car as at the time of making this video and I don't just fit in too many things everyone in my country thinks is normal.
Why don't I have a TV?
Well, I have so much interesting life that I don't need much entertainment.
Why don't I have a degree?
Well, I knew I would never need a job so I went after self-education on how to build companies.
Why don't I have a car?
Well, I live in a city where Uber can take me to anywhere i want at any time of the day.
Why should I waste time driving and maintaining a car, if someone else can do it for me?
Yes, I may need a car in the future when I'm ready to hire a driver but not now.
You get my point.
You have to live intentionally.
You must guide yourself against the societal unspoken commands.
You have to sit down and ask,"Is this good for me?" before you decide on what to do, buy or use.
If you're not intentional with your life, you'll simply do what everyone thinks is normal and as a result, you'll lose control over your life and individuality control your own destiny or someone else will.
Let me conclude this video with a simple warning. The world is a jungle.
Just as lions wake up each day to look for smaller animals to eat, many people and cultures are out there, ready to control your life.
If you don't control it by yourself, control your own destiny or someone else will.
