The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind

一天晚上，麥克斯穿上他的狼皮外套，玩起惡作劇，

and another ? ? ? ? ? ??

接連嚇到了好幾個人。

his mother called him “WILD THING!”

媽媽氣得罵他“野獸一樣的家伙！”

and Max said“I’LL EAT YOU UP!”

麥克斯卻繼續(xù)淘氣：“我要把你吃了！”

so he was sent to bed without eating anything.?

結(jié)果沒吃晚飯就被關(guān)進(jìn)房間。

That very night in Max’s room a forest grew

那一晚，麥克斯的房間里突然長出一片森林。

and grew-

長啊長...

and grew until his ceiling hung with vines,?and the walls became the world all around

直到葡萄藤掛滿天花板，墻壁與世界的邊緣融為一體。

and an ocean tumbled by with a private boat for Max

一艘專為麥克斯準(zhǔn)備的小船從海上漂來，

and he sailed off through night and day

他登上船，日以繼夜地航行，

and in and out of weeks

一周又一周過去，

and almost over a year

幾乎花了一整年，

to where the wild things are.?

他終于到達(dá)了野獸出沒的地方。

And when he came to the place where the wild things are

而當(dāng)麥克斯到達(dá)這里時，

they roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth

野獸們發(fā)出恐怖的咆哮，磨著尖利的牙齒，

and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws

瞪大了猙獰的眼睛，伸出了鋒利的爪子，

till Max said “BE STILL!” and tamed with the magic trick

直到麥克斯用魔法馴服了他們：“不許動！”

of staring into all their yellow eyes without blinking once

他盯住野獸們黃色的眼睛，一次也不眨。

and they were frightened and called him the most wild thing of all

野獸們都害怕了，把他當(dāng)作野獸中最厲害的家伙，

and made him king of all wild things.

擁護(hù)他為“野獸之王”。

“And now,” cried Max, “l(fā)et the wild rumpus start!”?

“現(xiàn)在，”麥克斯喊道，“讓野獸們鬧起來吧！”

“Now stop!” Max said and sent the wild things off to bed without their supper.

“停下來！”他又說道，沒給野獸們吃晚飯就讓它們?nèi)ニX。

And Max the king of all wild things was lonely and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all.

“野獸之王”麥克斯突然覺得有些孤單，想要回到最愛他的人身邊。

Then all around from far away across the world he smelled good things to eat?

so he gave up being king of where the wild things are.

這時，他從遙遠(yuǎn)世界的另一端聞到了一陣香味，決定要放棄做這里的王。

But the wild things cried, “Oh please don’t go - we’ll eat you up - we love you so!”

但是野獸們喊道，“哦，千萬不要走——我們會吃掉你——我們?nèi)绱藧勰?！?/span>

And Max said, “No!”

而麥克斯拒絕道：“不！”

The wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth

野獸們發(fā)出恐怖的咆哮，磨著尖利的牙齒，

and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws

瞪大了猙獰的眼睛，伸出了鋒利的爪子，

but Max stepped into his private boat and waved good-bye

但是麥克斯還是跑進(jìn)了他的小船，朝野獸們揮手再見，

and sailed back over a year?

小船航行了一年多，

and in and out of weeks?

過了一個星期又一個星期，

and through a day

經(jīng)過一個白天，

and into the night of his very own room?

他終于回到那個夜晚，回到自己的房間。

where he found his supper waiting for him

他發(fā)現(xiàn)那里有為他準(zhǔn)備的晚飯，

and it was still hot.

而且飯還是熱的。
