My friends, the adolescence of humanity is coming to an end and must come to an end.

朋友們，人類(lèi)的青春期就要結(jié)束了，而且必須要結(jié)束。

We are approaching that critical turning point – in less than two months in just over 40 days– when we must show that we are capable of learning, and maturing, and finally taking responsibility for the destruction we are inflicting, not just upon our planet but upon ourselves.

我們正在接近關(guān)鍵性的轉(zhuǎn)折點(diǎn)——在不到兩個(gè)月以后，也就是不到40天——屆時(shí)我們必須展現(xiàn)出學(xué)習(xí)、成熟的能力，還要擔(dān)負(fù)起我們自己創(chuàng)造的破壞所帶來(lái)的后果，我們摧毀的不僅是地球，還是我們自己。

It's time for humanity to grow up.

We are doing such irreversible damage that long before a million years are up, we will have made this beautiful planet effectively uninhabitable – not just for us but for many other species.
