A little boy planted a carrot seed.

一個(gè)小男孩種下了一顆胡蘿卜種子。

His mother said, "I'm afraid it won't come up."

他媽媽告訴他：“恐怕這顆種子不會(huì)長大。”

His father said, "I'm afraid it won't come up."

他爸爸也告訴他：“恐怕這顆種子不會(huì)長大?！?/span>

And his big brother said, " It won't come up."

他的哥哥也告訴他：“這顆種子不會(huì)長大。”

Every day the little boy pulled up the weeds around

the seed and sprinkled the ground with water.

每天小男孩都拔去種子周圍的雜草并且給土澆水。

But nothing came up.

但是什么也沒有長出來。

And nothing came up.

還是什么都沒有長出來。

Everyone kept saying it wouldn't come up.

每一個(gè)人都在繼續(xù)不停地告訴他這種子不會(huì)長出來。

But he still pulled up the weeds around it every day

and sprinkled the ground with water.

但他依然每天都拔去種子周圍的雜草并且給土澆水。

And then, one day,

然后，有一天，

a carrot came up

一個(gè)胡蘿卜長出來了

just as the little boy had known it would.

就像小男孩所希望的那樣。
