Some Dogs Do有些狗狗可以

When Sid set off for school one day, a happy feeling came his way.

有一天，狗狗Sid出發(fā)去上學，一種快樂的感覺包圍了他。

It filled him up so much he found his paws just lifted off the ground.

他的身心充滿甜蜜，發(fā)現(xiàn)自己的爪子騰空離地。

Without a how, without a why, Sid fell up towards the sky.

不知為何，Sid摔向空中。

Through swirling puffs of cloud he twirled above a tiny toy-town world, in the land of sun and moon, liked a doggy-shaped balloon.穿過旋轉(zhuǎn)的層層云朵，他飛旋到一個小玩具城世界上方， 在日月交輝的大地上，就像是一只狗狗形狀的氣球。

At school Sid asked his best friend Ben, “Did you see me fly just then?”

到了學校，Sid詢問最好的朋友Ben，“剛才你看到我飛了嗎？”

“Don’t be daft,” came Ben’s reply.

“You are a dog, and dogs don’t fly.” “別傻了，”Ben回答。“你是一只狗呀，狗不會飛?！?/p>

“But I did,” said Sid.

“I did…I did.” “但是，我飛了，的確飛了?！?/p>

In the classroom, Sid said, “Hey! Guess what! I flew to school today!”

在教室里，Sid說，“嘿！你們猜怎么著，我飛著來的學校！”

His classmates giggled, yelped and yowled. “Dogs don’t fly to school!” they howled.

他的同學們有的咯咯地笑，有的尖叫，還有的吼叫。他們咆哮著“狗不能飛著上學！”

“But I did,” said Sid. “I did.” “但是，我飛了，我的確飛了呀。”

Miss Mare the teacher shook her head. Miss Mare搖了搖頭。

“Now Sid, you shouldn’t lie,” she said. “All dogs walk and jump and run, but dogs don’t fly—it can’t be done.” 她說，“Sid，現(xiàn)在啊，你不能撒謊。所有的狗都能走路，跳躍，奔跑，但是，卻不能飛—因為那做不到的?！?/p>

“But I did,” said Sid. Sid說，“但是我做到了呀?！?/p>

Gus said, “Right! If you can fly, come outside… Let’s see you try!”

Gus說，“好吧！如果你能飛，那到外面去，露一手給我們看看！”

Sid’s happiness had gone by then. He tried to get it back again.

那時候，Sid的幸福感已經(jīng)沒有了，他努力找回那種感覺。

He thought about the clouds up high and then he jumped towards the sky.

Flop他想著高高的云朵便跳向空中。撲通一聲（它失敗了）

“You see, you’re just a dog,” said Gus, “with paws for walking just like us. That will teach you not to lie. Now you know that dogs don’t fly.” 

Gus說道：“看到了吧，你就是一只狗，跟我們一樣，用爪子走路。吸取教訓吧，別撒謊了！現(xiàn)在你知道了，狗不能飛?！?/p>

When Sid walked home from school that day, it seemed a long and lonely way.

那天，Sid放學回家，放學的路似乎既漫長又孤獨。

And once at home with mum and dad, deep inside he still felt bad.

在家里見到父母，他的內(nèi)心依然苦悶。

He did the things he always did, but something wasn’t right with Sid.

他表面跟往常相同，但就是哪里不對勁。

His dad came out and asked, “What’s up? You seem unhappy, little pup.” 

爸爸出來詢問，“怎么了？你看上不太高興啊，孩子。”

Sid sat staring at the sky, and all he said was, “Dogs don’t fly.” 

Sid坐在那凝望天空，只說了一句，“狗狗不能飛?！?/p>

Sid’s dad slowly raised his head. “I know a secret, Sid,” he said. “Could you keep it safe inside?” 

爸爸慢慢抬起頭，對他說，“我知道一個秘密，你能保守這個這個秘密嗎？”

“What’s the secret?” Sid replied. Sid問道，“是什么秘密呢？”

He turned around and then he knew dad was flying. “Now you know the secret too!” 

他轉(zhuǎn)過身，發(fā)現(xiàn)爸爸飛了起來。并對他說：“現(xiàn)在你也知道這個秘密啦！”

Sid’s happy eyes were open wide. “I knew it…Dogs do fly!” he cried.

Sid的眼睛大大地睜開，他眼神興奮，大喊道，“我知道了，狗狗能飛！”

Sid’s dad said, “Come, fly then, Sid,” and that’s exactly what Sid did.

爸爸說，“來吧，飛吧！”Sid也飛了起來。

Do dogs fly? Is it true?狗狗能飛嗎？這是真的嗎？

Some dogs don’t and some dogs do. 有的狗狗不能，而有的可以。
