'天問一號(hào)'啟程奔赴火星

China launched its first Mars probe Tianwen-1 on a Long March-5 rocket from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan province on Thursday, marking the start of the nation's planetary exploration program. 

7月23日，我國首個(gè)火星探測器"天問一號(hào)"搭載長征五號(hào)火箭在海南文昌航天發(fā)射中心成功發(fā)射，標(biāo)志著我國邁出行星探測計(jì)劃的第一步。

If everything goes according to schedule, the 5-metric ton Tianwen-1, which consists of two major parts - an orbiter and a landing capsule - will travel more than 400 million kilometers over nearly seven months before getting captured by the Martian gravitational field, the China National Space Administration said. 

國家航天局表示，"天問一號(hào)"總質(zhì)量5噸，主要由環(huán)繞器與著陸巡視器兩部分組成，如果一切按計(jì)劃進(jìn)行，"天問一號(hào)"在經(jīng)過4億多公里、近7個(gè)月的長途奔襲后將被火星引力所捕獲。

Several mid-course and deep-space correction maneuvers will be made during the spaceflight to make sure the probe is precisely aimed at the red planet. 

飛行途中需要進(jìn)行數(shù)次中途修正和深空機(jī)動(dòng)來修正飛行路徑，以確保探測器精確地將目的地瞄向火星。

After the probe enters Mars orbit, it will revolve around the planet for two to three months to investigate the landing capsule's preset landing site before descending to release the landing capsule, which will gradually drop through the Martian atmosphere.

"天問一號(hào)"進(jìn)入火星軌道之后，將繞火星運(yùn)行兩三個(gè)月，對(duì)預(yù)設(shè)著陸點(diǎn)進(jìn)行探測，之后才會(huì)進(jìn)行降軌控制，釋放著陸巡視器，后者將逐漸進(jìn)入火星大氣。

2 / Students find extra income

During the COVID-19 epidemic, about 12,000 post-2000 generation college students took part-time jobs in food delivery service, according to a report released by online catering platform Eleme on Wednesday. 

在線餐飲平臺(tái)餓了么7月22日發(fā)布的一份報(bào)告顯示，在新冠肺炎疫情期間，約有1.2萬名00后大學(xué)生兼職送外賣。

Post-2000 generation members who take part-time jobs at Eleme can earn an extra 3,000 yuan a month on average, the report said. Among those who have taken part-time jobs to deliver food, 26% have a bachelor's degree or above. 

報(bào)告稱，在餓了么兼職的00后平均每月可多掙3000元。在從事過兼職送餐的騎士中，26%的人具有學(xué)士或以上學(xué)歷。

Chengdu, Shanghai and Changsha are the most popular locations for these young deliverymen.

In addition to the flexible nature of the work, which fits in with students' daily life, some students take the job to reduce stress during exams, the report said.

Moreover, part-time delivery is a practical way for them to get in touch with people, some students said. The report said the post-2000 generation deliverymen are more accepting of this kind of job than other generations, and of those, half would recommend the job to other people.

3 / Tokyo Games face skeptics

The postponed Tokyo Olympics have reached the one-year-to-go mark on Thursday. But in Japan, just one in four people want to see the coronavirus-delayed Tokyo Games held next year, with most backing either further delay or a cancellation, a new poll shows. 

7月23日，延期后的東京奧運(yùn)會(huì)迎來倒計(jì)時(shí)一周年。最新民調(diào)顯示，每四個(gè)日本人中只有一人希望看到因新冠肺炎疫情延期的東京奧運(yùn)會(huì)能在明年舉行，大部分日本人支持繼續(xù)推遲或者取消這屆奧運(yùn)會(huì)。

Only 23.9% of respondents in the three-day nationwide poll published Sunday said they wanted to see the 2020 Games held next year. The survey carried out by Kyodo news agency found 36.4% of respondents back a further delay of the Games, while 33.7% think the event should be canceled altogether.

Most of those backing a delay or cancellation said they simply didn't believe the pandemic could be contained in time for the Games, now scheduled to open on July 23, 2021.

4 / US closes Chinese consulate

駐休斯頓領(lǐng)館收'逐客令'

The US government's request to close the Chinese Consulate-General in Houston is "a political provocation," and "an outrageous and unjustified move, which sabotages China-US relations," said the Chinese embassy in the US on Wednesday. 

中國駐美國大使館7月22日稱，美國政府要求中方關(guān)閉駐休斯敦總領(lǐng)館的行為是"政治挑釁，蓄意破壞中美關(guān)系，十分蠻橫無理"。

"The US abruptly demanded that the Chinese Consulate-General in Houston cease all operations and events within a time limit. It is a political provocation unilaterally launched by the US side, which seriously violates international law, basic norms governing international relations, and the bilateral consular agreement between China and the US," said the embassy in a statement. 

中國駐美國大使館在聲明中指出："美方突然要求中方限時(shí)關(guān)閉駐休斯敦總領(lǐng)館，這是美方單方面對(duì)中方發(fā)起的政治挑釁，嚴(yán)重違反國際法和國際關(guān)系基本準(zhǔn)則，嚴(yán)重違反中美領(lǐng)事條約有關(guān)規(guī)定，蓄意破壞中美關(guān)系，十分蠻橫無理。

"China strongly condemns and firmly opposes such an outrageous and unjustified move, which sabotages China-US relations. We urge the US side to immediately revoke this erroneous decision. Otherwise, China will have to respond with legitimate and necessary actions," it said.
