Chapter 19 | 遠(yuǎn)山呼應(yīng)

After that, the little prince climbed a high mountain. The only mountains he had ever known were the three volcanoes, which came up to his knees. And he used the extinct volcano as a footstool.  But he saw nothing, save peaks of rock that were sharpened like needles.

"Good morning," he said courteously.

“早上好，” 他禮貌地問(wèn)候。

"Good morning ... Good morning ... Good morning," answered the echo.

“早上好 ... 早上好 ... 早上好，” 山谷回音。

"Who are you？”

“你是誰(shuí)？”

"Who are you ... Who are you ... Who are you?" answered the echo.

“你是誰(shuí) ... 你是誰(shuí) ... 你是誰(shuí)？” 山谷回音。

“Be my friend. I am all alone," he said.

“做我的朋友吧，我一個(gè)人，”他說(shuō)。

"I am all alone ... all alone ... all alone," answered the echo.

“我一個(gè)人 ... 一個(gè)人 ... 一個(gè)人，” 山谷回音。

"What a queer planet!" he thought."It is altogether dry, and altogether pointed, and altogether harsh and forbidding. And the people have no imagination. They repeat whatever one says to them ... On my planet I had a flower; she always was the first to speak ... "

“這個(gè)星球真奇怪！” 他尋思著，“這里干燥的很，到處都是尖峰，環(huán)境嚴(yán)酷，令人生畏。這里的人也沒(méi)什么想象力， 只會(huì)重復(fù)別人對(duì)他們說(shuō)的話 ... 在我那兒，我有一棵花，她總是搶著說(shuō)話 ...  "
