天下皆謂我道大，似不肖(xiào)，夫(fú)唯大，故不肖(xiào)，若肖(xiào)，則細(xì)矣！故道大，天大，地大，人亦大，域中有四大，而人居一焉。人法地，地法天，天法道，道法自然。
All the world says Dao is infinite, it seems to resemble nothing.
Exactly because it is infinite, nothing can be like it.
If it resembles anything, it would have become finite.
So Dao is infinite, Heaven is infinite, Earth is infinite and Man is also infinite.
There are four infinities in the universe, and Man is one of them.
Man follows Earth.
Earth follows Heaven.
Heaven follows Dao.
Dao follows its own nature.

天下皆謂我道大，似不肖(xiào)，
All the world says Dao is infinite, it seems to resemble nothing.
夫(fú)唯大，故不肖(xiào)，
Exactly because it is infinite, nothing can be like it.
若肖(xiào)，則細(xì)矣！
If it resembles anything, it would have become finite.
故道大，天大，地大，人亦大，
