E-scooters banned in France

法國(guó)將限行電動(dòng)滑板車(chē)

France will ban electric scooters from pavements in September, the transport minister said, in a backlash against a surge of the commuter gizmos invading pedestrian areas. 

法國(guó)交通部長(zhǎng)表示，法國(guó)將從今年9月起，禁止電動(dòng)踏板車(chē)上人行道。近期，法國(guó)人行道上的電動(dòng)踏板車(chē)數(shù)量大增，引發(fā)民怨。

An estimated 15,000 scooters have flooded the French capital since their introduction last year, a number projected to surge to 40,000 by the end of this year. 

自去年引入這種代步工具后，目前法國(guó)首都巴黎估計(jì)已有1.5萬(wàn)輛電動(dòng)踏板車(chē)活躍街頭，預(yù)計(jì)年底將增至4萬(wàn)輛。

Elisabeth Borne told the Le Parisien that anyone riding an e-scooter, monowheel, personal transporter or hoverboard on the pavement would be fined 135 euros from September. 

法國(guó)交通部長(zhǎng)伯爾納對(duì)《巴黎人日?qǐng)?bào)》表示，從9月開(kāi)始，在人行道上駕駛電動(dòng)滑板車(chē)、電動(dòng)單輪車(chē)、電動(dòng)平衡車(chē)或懸浮滑板，將被處以135歐元(約合1025元人民幣)的罰款。

Instead, they will have to use the street or dedicated cycling paths, "so pedestrians are no longer squeezed against walls", the minister said.

伯爾納說(shuō)，騎行者只能在街道或?qū)Ｓ米孕熊?chē)道使用這些代步工具，"這樣行人才不至于被擠到墻邊"。

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have used Instagram to announce the birth of their first child, a son. 

蘇塞克斯公爵哈里和公爵夫人梅根通過(guò)Instagram宣布他們的第一個(gè)孩子已經(jīng)降生，是個(gè)男孩。

The boy, as yet unnamed, was born at 5:26 am on Monday, weighing 3 kg. The new arrival, who becomes seventh in line to the British throne, is the Queen's eighth great-grandchild. 

新生兒于當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間6日清晨5時(shí)26分出生，體重3公斤，目前孩子尚未取名。這名男嬰是英國(guó)女王的第八個(gè)重孫，也是英王室第七順位繼承人。

He will be revealed to the public on Wednesday after Harry and Meghan said they wanted to spend time as a family to enjoy the birth privately, before sharing it with the world at large. 

孩子將于8日與公眾見(jiàn)面，此前哈里和梅根曾表示，在和全世界分享這份快樂(lè)前，想和家人一起私下享受孩子降生的喜悅。

The official royal family Twitter account said the Queen and wider royal family including Prince Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, were "delighted with the news", while adding that the Duchess's mother, Doria Ragland, was "overjoyed" at the birth of her first grandchild.

10M students to take gaokao

高考報(bào)名人數(shù)首破千萬(wàn)

More than 10 million students have applied to take part in China's annual national college entrance examination this year, Minister of Education Chen Baosheng said Monday. Chen released the figure at a meeting on ensuring smooth running of the examination, known as the gaokao in Chinese.

為確保2019年高考各項(xiàng)工作平穩(wěn)實(shí)施，教育部6日召開(kāi)會(huì)議部署相關(guān)工作。教育部部長(zhǎng)陳寶生在會(huì)上表示，今年高考報(bào)名人數(shù)超過(guò)1000萬(wàn)，做好高?？荚囌猩ぷ魇姑鈽s、責(zé)任重大。

"It is a glorious mission and heavy responsibility to organize the exam and enrollment well," Chen said. He urged efforts to guarantee the safety of test papers, the sound organization of exam sites, the quality of grading and fairness in college enrollment.

陳寶生說(shuō)，要嚴(yán)把試卷安全關(guān)、考場(chǎng)組織關(guān)、閱卷質(zhì)量關(guān)、錄取公平關(guān)。
