Shenzhou XIII taikonauts complete 1st spacewalk
神十三航天員完成首次出艙任務 

Taikonauts Zhai Zhigang and Wang Yaping have completed their extravehicular activities (EVAs) and returned to the space station core module Tianhe, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said on early hours of Monday. The event was the third extravehicular mission conducted during the construction of the country's space station and the first by the Shenzhou XIII crew. It also marks the first EVAs in Chinese space history involving a female taikonaut, said the agency, which has declared Monday's EVAs a complete success. The pair returned to the core module at 1:16 am (Beijing time) after 6.5 hours of extravehicular activities. 
據(jù)中國載人航天工程辦公室消息，北京時間11月8日1時16分，經(jīng)過6.5小時的出艙活動，神舟十三號航天員乘組圓滿完成出艙活動全部既定任務，航天員翟志剛和王亞平安全返回天和核心艙，出艙活動取得圓滿成功。這是中國載人航天工程空間站階段第三次航天員出艙活動，是神舟十三號航天員乘組首次出艙活動，也是中國航天史上首次有女航天員參加的出艙活動。

The mission further tested the functions of the China-developed new-generation extravehicular spacesuits, the coordination between the taikonauts and the mechanical arm, and the reliability and safety of supporting equipment related to the EVAs, the CMSA noted. China launched the Shenzhou XIII spaceship on Oct 16, sending three taikonauts on a six-month mission to construct its space station.
此次出艙活動進一步檢驗了我國新一代艙外航天服的功能性能，檢驗了航天員與機械臂協(xié)同工作的能力及出艙活動相關支持設備的可靠性與安全性。神舟十三號載人飛船于10月16日成功發(fā)射，順利將三名航天員送入太空，他們將在軌駐留6個月。

Circular issued to prevent and control pollution
深入打好污染防治攻堅戰(zhàn)

Chinese authorities have issued a circular on further promoting the nationwide battle to prevent and control pollution, while strengthening ecological protection. 
中共中央、國務院近日印發(fā)《關于深入打好污染防治攻堅戰(zhàn)的意見》，在全國范圍內(nèi)深入開展污染防治工作，加強生態(tài)保護。

By 2025, carbon dioxide emissions per unit of the country's GDP will be reduced by 18% from the level in 2020, according to the circular jointly released by the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council. In cities at or above the prefectural level, the intensity of PM 2.5 will be decreased by 10%, the proportion of days with good air quality will reach 87.5%, while the proportion of surface water with relatively good quality (at or above Grade III) should be above 85% during the period. 
《意見》提出的主要目標是，到2025年，單位國內(nèi)生產(chǎn)總值二氧化碳排放比2020年下降18%，地級及以上城市細顆粒物(PM2.5)濃度下降10%，空氣質(zhì)量優(yōu)良天數(shù)比率達到87.5%，地表水Ⅰ-Ⅲ類水體比例達到85%。

By 2035, a green way of life and production will have been formed, carbon emissions will stabilize and decline after reaching a peak, and the country's ecological environment will see fundamental improvement, said the circular.
到2035年，廣泛形成綠色生產(chǎn)生活方式，碳排放達峰后穩(wěn)中有降，生態(tài)環(huán)境根本好轉(zhuǎn)。

Heavy snow hits northern China
北方地區(qū)迎來大范圍降雪

This winter's first massive snowstorms began hitting North and Northeast China on Saturday, freezing roads, closing highways and leading to the suspension of trains and other forms of public transportation. A cold wave from western Siberia in Russia caused the blizzards that led to plummeting temperatures across the country, China's National Meteorological Center said. 
11月6日起，我國北部和東北部遭遇今冬第一場大范圍降雪天氣，暴雪導致部分道路結(jié)冰，一些高速公路關閉，鐵路及公共交通部分線路停運。中央氣象臺表示，來自俄羅斯西伯利亞西部的寒潮引發(fā)了暴風雪，導致全國多地氣溫驟降。

Since Saturday, China has seen temperature drops between 8 C and 17 C nationwide. A video showed about 1 meter of heavy snow blocking a door of a herdsman's house in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, on Saturday. This year's first snow in Beijing arrived on Sunday, 27 days earlier than the average date between 1991 and 2020.

Biden approval rating drops
美總統(tǒng)拜登支持率下滑

US President Biden’s approval rating continued to sink in a new poll released on Sunday. The poll was conducted by USA Today and Suffolk University between Wednesday and Friday of last week, just before Democrats passed an infrastructure bill and advanced a social spending package. 
當?shù)貢r間11月7日公布的一項最新民調(diào)顯示，美國總統(tǒng)拜登的支持率繼續(xù)下降。這項民意調(diào)查是由《今日美國》和薩福克大學在11月3日至5日之間進行的。此后不久，民主黨通過了一項基礎設施法案并推進了一項社會支出計劃。

It found that Biden’s approval rating has fallen to 38% after it had been hovering in the low 40s in recent polls. The latest USA Today-Suffolk University poll found that 46% of those surveyed believe Biden is doing a worse job as president than expected, including 16% who supported him at the ballot box last year. Forty-four percent of independents said he is performing worse, not better, than they had expected.
