French first lady Brigitte Macron is set to return to the classroom in a new adult training college for school drop-outs. Macron, a French and drama teacher until 2015, has accepted a supervisory and teaching role for a new school in a suburb of Paris and another in a rural area of southeast France. 
法國第一夫人布麗吉特?馬克龍將重返講臺(tái)，到一所專門為輟學(xué)者新建的成人培訓(xùn)學(xué)校執(zhí)教。在2015年以前，布麗吉特一直是一名法語和戲劇教師。日前她接受了兩所學(xué)校的邀請(qǐng)擔(dān)任監(jiān)督和教學(xué)的職務(wù)，其中一所是位于巴黎郊區(qū)的新建學(xué)校，另一所是位于法國東南部鄉(xiāng)下地區(qū)的學(xué)校。

On Monday, Brigitte visited the first of the schools and said the school aimed to give its students, who will be paid 1,000 euros a month, "the foundations to be able to enter the workplace". According to her Elysée aides, starting from September, she will teach young adults aged between 25 to 30 French and literature "once or twice a month".

During the nine-month course, students will be taught basic skills in French, history, mathematics and English, as well as given more advice on writing a CV to boost their confidence in seeking a job.

城里樹木長得快死得早

Trees in cities "live fast but die young" compared to rural forests, warns a new study. Researchers found that trees in urban areas die faster than ones in the countryside as higher levels of carbon dioxide make it harder for the plant to survive. City-dwelling trees suffer a net loss of carbon storage which means trees produce less energy from the air. 
一項(xiàng)新研究警告說，相比鄉(xiāng)間樹林里的樹，城里的樹"長得快但死得早"。研究人員發(fā)現(xiàn)，城區(qū)樹木的壽命比鄉(xiāng)間樹木短，因?yàn)槌鞘卸趸紳舛雀?，讓樹更難存活。生長在城里的樹碳儲(chǔ)量是凈虧損的，這意味著樹用空氣轉(zhuǎn)化成的能量更低。

Researchers say strategic combinations of planting and maintenance will be needed to secure urban sustainability but more needs to be done to develop understanding of urban trees and their ecosystems - which may differ from rural forests.

China to host 2023 Asian Cup
2023亞洲杯將落戶中國

South Korea has withdrawn its bid to host the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup, giving China a free run to stage the quadrennial competition. "The Korea Football Association (KFA) decided to drop the Asian Cup bid to strategically focus on the hosting of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup," KFA secretary general said in a statement. 
由于韓國放棄申辦2023年亞足聯(lián)亞洲杯，中國獲得這一賽事的主辦權(quán)基本已成定局。韓國足球協(xié)會(huì)秘書長在一份聲明中表示："韓國足協(xié)決定放棄申辦亞洲杯，將戰(zhàn)略重點(diǎn)放在主辦2023年女足世界杯上。"

With Indonesia and Thailand having previously withdrawn their hosting bids, it appears likely that the 2023 Asian Cup will be held in China, the only country still in the running to stage the tournament. The host nation for the 2023 Asian Cup will officially be announced on June 4.
此前，印度尼西亞和泰國也相繼退出了對(duì)2023年亞洲杯的申辦，目前這一賽事的申辦國只剩下中國，因此落戶中國幾無懸念。2023年亞洲杯主辦國將于6月4日正式公布。
