Exclusionary Rule:

Definition:
The exclusionary rule is a legal doctrine that states evidence obtained in violation of a criminal defendant’s constitutional or statutory rights is not admissible at trial. This rule is designed to deter law enforcement from conducting illegal searches and seizures and to protect defendants’ rights.

Example:
If the police conduct a search of a suspect’s home without a warrant and without any legal justification, and they find incriminating evidence, that evidence cannot be used against the suspect in court. This is because the search violated the suspect’s Fourth Amendment rights against unreasonable searches and seizures.
